Date: Monday 4 & Tuesday 5 August 2025
Time: The event starts at 10.30am on Monday at UTS and concludes at 6pm on Tuesday in Katoomba.
Location: UTS and The Carrington Hotel, Katoomba, NSW
The 2-Day Winter School includes the following sessions and more.
- Transdisciplinary Innovation by Dr Helena Robinson and Dr Jan Henrik Gruenhagen, UTS Transdisciplinary School
- Q&A with Prof. Michael Birecuk, Founder & CEO, Q-CTRL
- Science Communication Workshop by Niall Byrne, Creative Director, Science in Public
- Science and Policy by Dr Caitlin Curtis, UQ Business School
- Publishing in Nature, by Dr Susan Allison, Consulting Editor, Nature
- Panel on Individual Fellowships with A/Prof David Simpson, A/Prof Liz Hinde, Dr Pavlina Naydenova, Dr Sergey Kruk

Inclusions:
- Event registration fee and access to all sessions and activities
- Event meals (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) over the two days
- Accommodation for Monday night. Rooms are twin share with shared bathroom facilities at The Carrington Hotel
- Bus transport from UTS to Katoomba on Monday afternoon with Winter School attendees. This does not include return transport to Sydney on Tuesday evening. Attendees will be required to find their own way back to Sydney. The Carrington Hotel is adjacent to Katoomba train station.
- Optional extras: Welcome dinner (Monday night). Plan and cost to be advised closer to the time.
