Professor Haibo Yu leads the Computational Chemistry and Biophysics group at the University of Wollongong (UOW) and is affiliated with UOW’s Molecular Horizons. His group develops and applies physics-based and data-driven computational techniques to study complex molecular systems and rationally design molecules with novel functions. Haibo received his PhD in Chemistry from ETH Zürich and postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Chicago in the USA. He established his own group at UOW in 2010. He was awarded an Australian Research Council Future Fellow in 2011. In the QUBIC, he studies “quantum effects in biology” with multiscale simulations.
