The QUBIC Annual Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our members who exemplify the Centre’s values of Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, and Empowerment. These awards highlight the diverse contributions that drive QUBIC’s success—from ground-breaking research and cross-nodal collaboration to outreach, equity, and translation. By acknowledging these efforts, we aim to foster a culture of recognition, inspire future leaders, and showcase the impact of our community on science and society.

2025 Award Categories

Scientific Achievement in the Cell Theme
Recognising students, early career researchers, or teams who excelled in collecting, analysing, or interpreting data within the Cell Theme in 2025.
Outstanding Collaborative Paper
Recognising researchers from different nodes whose collaboration resulted in an outstanding research publication in 2025.
Scientific Achievement in the Molecule Theme
Recognising students, early career researchers, or teams who excelled in collecting, analysing, or interpreting data within the Molecule Theme in 2025.
Outstanding Team Project
Recognising a team that addressed a significant challenge or delivered impactful results in 2025, advancing QUBIC’s research goals.
Scientific Achievement in the Brain Theme
Recognising students, early career researchers, or teams who excelled in collecting, analysing, or interpreting data within the Brain Theme in 2025.
Cross-Nodal Collaboration Award
Recognising individuals or teams who played a key role in establishing and maintaining productive collaborations across multiple QUBIC nodes in 2025.
Rising Star Award
Recognising students or early career researchers who demonstrated exceptional promise and professional growth within QUBIC in 2025.
Research Translation Pioneer Award
Recognising individuals or teams who demonstrated innovation in translating research into real-world applications or industry partnerships in 2025.
Superstars of Outreach Award
Recognising individuals or teams who made exceptional contributions to outreach in 2025, including public talks, events, media engagement, or school programs.
Mentor Award
Recognising an outstanding mentor who provided invaluable guidance and support to others, contributing to their professional growth in 2025.
Advancing Equity Award
Recognising individuals or groups who actively promoted equity, diversity, and inclusion within QUBIC in 2025.
QUBIC Ambassador Award
Recognising an individual who significantly raised the profile of QUBIC in 2025 through leadership in public engagement, advocacy, or contributions to science policy and discourse at national or international levels.
Director’s Award
Recognising an individual who exemplified QUBIC’s values through exceptional service, leadership, and contributions to the Centre’s culture, governance, and success in 2025.

 

QUBIC Annual Awards – Nomination Guidelines

We are excited to launch the QUBIC Annual Awards to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of our members. These awards reflect QUBIC’s values of Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, and Empowerment.

Who Can Nominate?

  • Nominations are open to all QUBIC members (students, postdocs, professional staff, CIs, and partners).
  • You may self-nominate or nominate another member/team.

How to Nominate

  • Complete the online nomination form (link below).
  • You can nominate for one or multiple awards.
  • For each award you nominate for, provide:
    • Nominee details
    • Award category
    • Nomination statement (150–300 words)
    • Optional: Upload supporting evidence (e.g., publication, event flyer, media link)

Anonymous Nominations

You’ll need to provide your name and email for verification, but you can choose to keep your identity confidential from the nominee and in any public announcements.
Simply tick the checkbox:
“I would like my nomination to remain anonymous to the nominee and in any public announcements.”

What to Include in Your Nomination Statement

Your statement should:

  • Clearly explain why the nominee deserves the award.
  • Provide specific examples or evidence of their contribution or impact.
  • Highlight how the nominee’s work aligns with QUBIC’s values.
  • Be concise and focused (150–300 words).

Tips for a Strong Nomination

Be specific – Describe what the nominee did and why it matters.
Show impact – Include measurable outcomes where possible (e.g., publications, collaborations, outreach reach).
Connect to QUBIC’s values – Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, Empowerment.
Include evidence – Links or documents that support your case (optional but encouraged).
