QUBIC Industry Colloboration Internship Purpose and Goals
Goal:
To support industry and government internships/placements for QUBIC HDR students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs), enabling hands-on experience in non-academic environments relevant to quantum biotechnology while strengthening QUBIC’s translation and industry engagement pipeline.
This scheme supports QUBIC’s objectives to develop a future-ready workforce, strengthen partnerships with industry and government and translate research capability into real-world impact.
Intended Outcomes:
👉🏿 6–10 funded placements in 2026
👉🏼 enhanced employability and industry exposure for HDRs and ECRs
👉🏾 strengthened collaborations with QUBIC partner organisations
Eligibility
Eligible Applicants
✅ QUBIC-affiliated HDR students or ECRs based at a QUBIC node
✅ Endorsement from both the academic supervisor and host organisation
Eligible Placements
➡️ Hosted by industry, government, defence, or not-for-profit organisations
➡️ Aligned with QUBIC research themes or translation priorities
Funding
💰 Typical award: up to $5,000 per placement
💰 Allowable costs include travel, accommodation, and other placement-related expenses
Application Process
A single PDF submission including:
⭐ applicant CV
⭐ a 1-page statement outlining the placement and expected outcomes
⭐ endorsement letters from both QUBIC supervisor and host organisation
Applications will be assessed competitively by a panel representing relevant QUBIC portfolios.
Deadline: Rolling submissions (until funds are exhausted)

Governance and Reporting
Funding decisions will be approved by the QUBIC Executive Committee (or delegate).
Recipients must submit a brief report (with photos, ≤1 page) within one month of completion, outlining outcomes and impact.
Awardees may be invited to act as mentors for future applicants.
