2025 QUBIC Joint Themes Workshop
This workshop is an opportunity for QUBIC members to highlight research progress, gain experience presenting to a multidisciplinary audience, plan new research activities and strengthen cross-node collaboration. It is open to all people associated with QUBIC. We expect approximately 60 participants including QUBIC CIs, AIs, EMCRs and HDR students.

Workshop registration is from 5:00 PM Tuesday 5th August with sessions commencing at 9:00 AM Wed 6th and conclude at 3:00 PM Thursday 7th August.

Description
The QUBIC Themes Workshop provides a forum for sharing scientific findings and discussing progress and collaborative activities related to the three QUBIC research themes Molecules-Cells-Brain. This year’s Workshop combines all themes in one two-day program of presentation sessions and activities to create truly cross-disciplinary, cross-theme environment for scientific discussion, promoting learning and igniting collaboration across the nodes and the research themes. The focus of the workshop will also be on training ECRs and HDR students in public speaking and scientific presentation.

Cost
QUBIC will cover the cost of shared accommodation, breakfast and lunch (dinner not provided).

Accommodation
The rooms are Twin Singles with shared bathroom facilities, see here for details: Traditional Room. Special requests for single rooms will be considered.
Travel to the Carrington Hotel
Trains operate between Sydney Central Station & Katoomba Station on the Blue Mountains Line.
This 2-hour train trip departs from Central Station’s Country Trains platform.
The Carrington is located ~200m from Katoomba Station.

Trains operate between Katoomba and Sydney’s Central Station on the Blue Mountains line.
This 2-hour train trip returns to Sydney’s Country Trains platform. You’ll need to change platforms for trains to Sydney Airport.
Bus: A chartered bus transfer will depart at 3.30pm on Thursday 7th August after the Themes Workshop finishes. Buses will leave from the bus stop on Katoomba Street (in front of The Carrington Hotel) and travel to the Sydney Domestic Airport (ETA 5pm), then to Central Train Station (ETA 5.30pm).
